Liked: The gardens are beautiful, and the hotel has great size bedrooms, and lovely views from the upper floors, the staff are lovely, Sarah at the front desk is an asset to this hotel, she was so friendly and very helpful, made us so welcome and helped with our rooms. Also the owner James is a lovely man, and came and sat with us a few times and we had many chats, he looks very like the actor Peter Otool, which we told him many times, a very good hotel boss from what I seen, and treated all his customers the same.
Disliked: Our base on our bed was broken, we didn't realise until we pulled back the quilt and tried to sleep, I kept rolling out of the bed, and when we rang reception after midnight, we had no one to help or take the call, so this was a disaster, as we got no sleep, the hotel did give us a new room straight away the next day with complimentary meal and and half our money back. I honestly love the rooms, but the beds and pillows are not comfortable, we had no information in the rooms, and I was disappointed no coffee maker, a bit surprising for a 4 star, the hotel itself is stunning, beautiful gardens and set in a tidy little village, but just abit to rural for us, I thought it was closer to kilkenny, but saying that, I would recommend it for a wee break away, but just update the beds for a little more comfort, maybe some day I will return.
