Iconic Frankfurt hotel

Liked: The reception staff. The bedroom. The breakfast. The five star vibe. The old building.
Disliked: The lack of lifts. The variable quality of people enjoying breakfast, maybe not guests. The lack of bathroom amenities even when asked for, eg no bar soap. Poor English.

Disliked: Out room was not well cleaned by housekeeping...our used damp towels were still on the tube, exactly the same where we placed. Also plenty of water were still around the tube... Disappointed . I had to do a bit cleaning by myself before taking bath.. The drinking glassware were also not cleaned up, too, still with our teabags there and tea stains on it.... so I have to do another clean up then... with my fatigue body.after a whole day visiting outside...More, there were quite a lots of used cigarettes sitting on the balcony when we check in, we both not smoking so those were definitely not ours ..Frankly we were quite "surprised" by such kind of conditions and guidelines of cleanliness for it's such a famous hotel for almost a century after all... I wonder if Melissa was not there for our room arrangement, our staying might not be that great then. So thanks again, Melissa! ☺️❤️

Disliked: Brakefast is not worth the money for a 5 star hotel. Waiters are staying around, coffee is not served and no real fresh fruits. Room was noise from the old aircondition .

Liked: Nothing really... I will not be returning here.
Disliked: First you get a room which is supposed to be a Deluxe but has a bathroom that screams dorm-room, with broken fittings and visible mold. You then get upgraded to a room where you find a pair of used men's underwear. This is not on par with a 5 star hotel experience. This is at best a tired 4 star hotel. Do not recommend.

Disliked: There was a high level of noise from outside at night (car horns, loud music) - can the sound proofing be increased? Although the bathroom was lovely it was not well designed - toilet roll holder behind the towel. Hand towel rail very low. Tear in the lace curtain. Pillows extremely soft

Great location, nice rooms but...

Liked: It is a prestigious building. The rooms and bathrooms are spacious and well furnished as to expect from a luxury hotel. Check-in and check out went smooth. The restaurant Brasserie has a nice decor and good food selection. Location is great - close to the Main Ufer and all other attractions - within short walking distance. The terrace is beautiful and definitely worth spending your lunch or hightea there.
Disliked: I think the breakfast team needs a bit of a cheer up - reserved friendly is what I would describe it - if they talk to you at all. Also we tried to order room service one night and were told waiting time is 1-1 1/2 hours because the restaurant is busy and restaurant guest would have priority. I am sorry, but never have I heard this in any other 5star hotels I have stayed in and I think it is not an adequate response nor waiting time for a luxury hotel. We didn't order anything At check-out I wanted to give Ms Horbatova a feedback on my experience but she didn't even look at me when I told her and answered with a bare I am sorry - I highly doubt my feedback has been processed or that it makes any difference. The lounge area needs an upgrade and refurbishment in my view - it is not inviting, seating is uncomfortable and service only at limited times. The corridors feel a bit like a ghost hall - are there no flower arrangement or paintings available to make it look a bit friendlier?
