Hotel big on show but...

Liked: B/F was Ok except the smoked salmon.
Disliked: Hotel is big on show but not on convenience. No AC in room nor vent in bathroom. Little space in bathroom. Had dinner in Hotel, very slow service but food OK when arrived.

Liked: The staff is very lovely. The location is unbeatable to explore Kiel. Breakfast is good too.
Disliked: The building and facilities are clearly very outdated, especially the rooms. There is no AC, the bathroom is from the 80s, the pillows were bad, all furniture is super old fashioned, no real coffee machine and the whole room smelled strange, regardless of how long we opened the window. The whole place just really needs to be renovated and brought to modern standards.

Disliked: no flair, no charme, old.no chips or simular for free in the bar.mass proceeding instead of appreciative treatment in bar or whilst breakfastlast but not least key which did not work and no immediate solution

Great base to explore Kiel.

Liked: Lovely people. Super location, comfy modern rooms
Disliked: No BBC1/2 tv channels, no sky sports package on their tvs. Most guests seem to only overnight off the cruise ships and ferries, with constant long queues at the front desk, making it very tiresome to speak to reception staff.

Clean and quiet, great food

Liked: The male receptionist M R was very rude and not service minded at all when I entered the hotel on my own ( my husband was waiting outside in the car). His service level was very much under what I normally get in other hotels of same category. He was irritated from the very first second. He told me that there were no available spaces in the garage despite the signal at the entrance showing 4 free spaces. He asked me to park in another parking in the other side of the road. I went out and my husband saw that the signal had changed to 8 places so we took a chance and entered the garage and found a far too small space but we managed to park the car. He allocated us to a room for people with handicap despite the fact that neither my husband or I suffer of any disability or asked for it. He was irritated with all that I said f ex that we were no smokers. The rest of the staff was great specially at the restaurant, where we enjoyed a great dinner and lovely breakfast.
