Steam Plant Hotel

Great, inexpensive place to stay close to downtown.

Liked: Reservation; check in; attention to detail with pre check in text asking if I needed anything prior to arrival; clean, comfortable room; location and price!
Disliked: Water pressure was really low; pillows were flat; coffee machine leaked.

Room was extremely small. Fixtures outdated. Not what I would expect from a Ramada. Very noisy as a train runs right next to the building. It seemed clean but not comfortable. Staff was friendly and within walking distance to restaurants.

Liked: Friendly staff, clean parking area
Disliked: Small, uncomfortable rooms, Train noise

Convenient location.

Liked: Breakfast was Great! Although we were not given the correct voucher to redeem the complimentary breakfast. We had to go back to the hotel to get it.
Disliked: More pillows for the bed. I recieved a text message prior to arriving asking if we would like any accommodations. I replied to the text asking for extra pillows. No response from the text and no extra pillows.

What a gem!

Liked: The location was great! On site parking a definite plus! Beautiful murals and chill vibes.

Exceptional

Liked: Everything. For the price the place was a gem. A train bridge backs the hostel which I found very romantic listening to the low rumble and the turn of the century (that is 20th) buildings. It was like an Edward Hopper painting. A park with fantastic rive falls is just blocks away.
Disliked: There were some sketchy people in the area. But that is true everywhere.

Downtown’s Charming Sleepaway!

Liked: Whenever I stay at the Steam Plant Hotel it’s always a pleasant, relaxing and hassle- free time. Every staff member, from the friendly and polite check in person, the ever accommodating maintenance staff, and even the parking lot security, all make it a point to ask about my comforts and needs. The room is spacious and clean. Love the large shower!! And the bed is cozy and snuggly with all the pillows. The location is within walking distance of eateries, nightclubs and other entertainment venues. A breakfast voucher to Rosies is an added bonus. There is a train that rattles through nearby but the provided earplugs eliminates the noise. For the price location, and staff, Steam Plant Hotel is my go to place for the night.
Disliked: There is nothing that I can be disappointed in

Great location for one or...

Liked: Location is right downtown, and of course there were homeless people wandering around. Bed was comfortable. Breakfast was at Rosie's a block away. Now that was a great place for breakfast. We were given a coupon for one free breky, so my spouse had to pay. The cashier/waitress was so nice and helpful. And patient. I really appreciate her.
Disliked: The room seems well worn and will need refurbishment soon. Carpeting is matted, subfloor by the bathroom door is sunk in.

Superb

My stay was made so...

Liked: Spacious rooms that contained a large fridge, microwave and a decent coffee maker. The shower was so refreshing and luxurious with the oversized enclosure and a large rain like shower head. All the fixtures throughout the bathroom were a grade above the standard. The room had a nice floor plan allowing a dressing/clothing area, An office area, the sleeping area with the huge king sized bed. The grounds were kept super clean and everything worked from the vending machines to the weight room equipment. The staff were friendly, polite, knowledgable, helpful and bubbly. It was very evident that every staff member took pride in the fact that they belonged to this organization and that genuinely enjoyed being at work.
Disliked: The train. There is nothing that Steam Plant can due about it but it is very loud, screechy banging and clunky.

Very good

Liked: The central location was excellent. The elevator was terrific. The staff made an excellent recommendation for dinner. A pleasant night all up.
Disliked: We were so surprised at the proximity of the rail line. However they had minimal impact on our sleep.
