Beautiful hotel. The room was impeccably clean and the staff was superb. This will definitely be my go-to place the next time I am in downtown Chicago.

Clean and comfortable
Liked: The lobby area has complimentary water, cupcakes, and coffee. Dog treats too! The entire room stayed true to the pineapple theme, but in a classy way. The bed was one of the most comfortable I?ve ever slept in. We stayed on the 5th floor and had a nice view of Millennium Park. I imagine the higher floors have even better views. The restaurant was delicious and they have great cocktails. We only stayed for a night, but was a perfect way to celebrate our anniversary.
Disliked: After arriving the front desk informed us there was going to be an amenities charge on our bill, which was not on Booking.com. So that was an unfortunate surprise. They explained it was to cover the free WiFi and the unlimited water & coffee in the room.

Disliked: The check in process was not smooth as there was a problem with my credit card , the property needed a credit card to complete the check in and I offered to pay in cash what they needed . However, all trials had failed . After about 3 hours , I contacted a friend from USA to use his credit card . It is not mentioned in the property page in booking.com that a credit card is mandatory for check-in .Anyway , it was a very bad experience and I will not visit Chicago again.

Historic gem, friendly staff, well...
Liked: Great location. Nice reuse of an historic property. Staff was friendly extremely helpful. Everything was clean and well maintained.
Disliked: The room was small and overstuffed with merchandise for you to purchase. Fine for a night or two, but felt cramped for an extended stay. You can't watch the television without moving the merchandise and "amenities". The $15 amenity fee gets you things that are free in other hotels (internet, two bottles of water and coffee pods).
