We were overall pleased with...

Liked: The room was nice, we liked the breakfast, workout room, and pool.
Disliked: It was odd that no one attended to our room at all while we were at the hotel. It would have been nice to have someone at least take out the trash.

Nice room layout and mostly...

Liked: We had a nice stay in April at a Staybridge Suite in Madison, Wisconsin and we returned for a stay at this location because of our pleasant experience at the Staybridge in Madison, including the size and layout of the one-bedroom suite with a sofa bed in a separate room. We liked the room at the Independence location for those same reasons. For the most part it was quiet.
Disliked: We were unpleasantly surprised at the lack of selection and lower quality of the breakfast at this location compared to the Staybridge we stayed at in Madison. Inconsistency between locations is a concern for future stays. We found a big stain on one of the pillows, which made us uncomfortable as to the cleanliness of everything else in the room. The hallway rugs were pretty dirty and had litter, which also added to the cleanliness concerns of our room.

Liked: The location.
Disliked: The toilet wasn't flushing and it took most of the day for anyone to even come fix it. They wouldnt bring us up more blankets. There was no blankets in the room for the sofa bed. There was only 2 towels in the room for 3 guests. The toilet paper was almost empty. The front desk clerks were rude.

Disliked: I paid for a room with a KING bed and a sofa bed and since the room door was jammed (damaged) i was move to a smaller room with a full bed with a sofa. Very uncomfortable after a day in a park. There were bugs in the room.

Liked: An attempt was made to correct the first night defiencies.
Disliked: The first night was miserable, and we were hot. I was told by the clerk at the front desk to unplug the A/C unit because she didn't know how to adjust the temperature in the room. The refrigerator wasn't cold, and our food spoiled. My wife stated that the floor was not very clean.

Pretty terrible experience.

Liked: The location was nearby our family that we were visiting. I like that the rooms have small kitchenette areas.
Disliked: When we checked in there was a constant beeping in our room and the TV remotes didn't have batteries. I alerted the staff to these issues. Then, we used the kitchen sink and it started leaking all over the floor. When I notified staff of this additional problem they offered to give us a room of lesser value than what we booked. After finally agreeing to move us to another "like room" the next room did not have a working A/C unit. They moved us once again. While we ended up staying in the 3rd room, the room itself was not very clean. It had an odd odor to it. The A/C only worked sporadically. It would sometimes not work and get up 78 degrees in the room. The fridge had moisture in it due to condensation. They did not provide us with enough linen in the room. When we would ask for additional linen the staff were often rude and would still not give us enough linen. Anytime we had a request the staff would not bring things to our room. We would have to go from the 3rd floor to the lobby to get keys, linen, anything. At the provided breakfast the staff servicing the breakfast area were rude to people loudly complaining that they "hated when people left the serving spoon in the dish of food." The hot tub was out of service during our stay. Upon check out they did not have our printed receipt ready. The staff requested my email address and said they would email a statement within 10 minutes of our departure. A week later, I have still yet to receive the statement.

Great place to stay for...

Liked: Clean well appointed and pleasant staff
Disliked: Guests talking in the courtyard/pool at 2:30 in the morning

Great location, rooms and breakfast....

Liked: Location, condition and size of room, bkft
Disliked: Problem night staff. I had a noisy neighbor and finally called front desk 1230 AM and asked them to please call them to ask them to please lower their volume on their talking and laughing. Front desk refused saying they would only call if they had loud music. Whats the difference between loud music and loud talking and laughing? Whats the harm in asking a guest to be a little quieter when all their neighbors are sleeping. Front desk person was also abrupt and didnt seem to want to help. HUH?
