They don't communicate with booking

Liked: I didnt stay there because they didn't have my reservation from booking. I arrived to be told they couldn't find it and they had no comparable room available to accommodate us and id have to contact booking and deal with it myself. So I had to leave and drive down the road until I found another hotel and see if they had a room for us.
Disliked: They didnt communicate with booking and i did not have a room reserved for us. Despite making the reservation months in advance.

Our stay was pleasant and...

Liked: It was really quiet and the room was very well laid out, roomy, supplied and clean.
Disliked: It was a little musty, in need of a remod in the halls, little things in the room (like stove burners not heating up well enough to cook eggs), maybe ac filter change, nothing big.

Bad

Disliked: I booked a 2 night stay at this location and upon arrival discovered the lack of cleanliness; however, we were too far away from home to leave that night. Therefore, we stayed 1 night and checked out early and did not stay the second night. The room was very dirty; hair was everywhere, the floors had obviously not been cleaned in quite some time, the room smelled like urine, which is not surprising because there was urine on the bathroom door that had not been cleaned. Additionally, there was feces outside the hotel door. The front desk staff told me I would have to contact the website where I booked the stay in order to request a refund. I did so, and the website contacted this location to discuss the issues with them and submit a refund request for the unused night. The location agreed to the refund. However, I have not received a refund. I have contacted the hotel 3 times at this point and have contacted the reservation website twice. The hotel claims that their system was down from a storm, but after 20 days I have still not received a refund or heard anything else from the hotel about it.

Great family stay

Liked: The staff and breakfast was amazing! They even have a social event during the week,but I forgot about it, but complimentary drinks! The dog area was very spacious and enclosed too. My dog was able to walk around a good bit after such a long drive there.
Disliked: Only issue I could find is there aren't many hooks to hang towels or even wet clothes on. Being near the beach and having a pool,I found we needed space to hang dry, but I ended up just washing the clothes since there was also complimentary washing services too, so not even that much of an inconvenience.
