Staffed checked me in someone...

Will never stay here again.
Disliked: Terrible staff. We switched our room because the AC didn?t work and then at 2:30am other people were given access to my hotel room. I immediately called the front desk and the woman said the room was vacant in the system and she apologized. This was 2:30am and multiple men were banging on the door and had access to the room where i slept with my child and my friend with her child. This situation was absolutely handled poorly by the staff, especially the GM.

Liked: Most everything
Disliked: Each night there was a very loud group on the corner near the bus stop at various times throughout the night, loud enough to hear in my room, as well as make me uncomfortable going outside.

Liked: Beautiful, old building with historic charm. Very happy we choose this hotel over others we inquired about. Would stay again.
Disliked: Could find nothing to make our stay problematic.

Spacious, attractive rooms in beautifully...
Liked: The hotel maintains its historical feel while updating well designed rooms
Disliked: My criticism is their policy of charging the guests? credit card with a $150 fee until housekeeping has inspected the room after checkout. In my opinion this is excessive for a one night stay. The breakfast was disappointing and sparse. Understandably due to the pandemic, there are individual packagings of cereal and yogurt and lots of plastic cups, glasses and utensils. Hopefully, the hotel will try to be more environmentally sensitive as protocols change.

Disliked: The hotel seemed more like an SRO (Single Resident Occupancy-low income housing in NYC) than a hotel. The common areas as well as the rooms seemed to have been last updated in the 50's or 60's. It was so bad that I would have found another hotel to stay at and forfeited my payment had we not arrived so late in the evening. This facility should not be marketed as a hotel. It would be better served as low income housing. In fact, it seemed to be accepting low income residents receiving public assistance. FYI-I have been in the commercial real estate business for over 35 years and have been involved with many hotels.
