Stay Central Hotel is just a 3-minute walk from the historic Royal Mile. Located in the Cowgate this lively budget hotel is in Edinburgh's Old Town within half a mile of Princes Street. It surrounds the Three Sisters bar a pub and nightclub that hosts entertainment and lively events nightly. Dating back to 1621 the Stay Central Hotel retains many original features. Its rooms with attached bathroom each have a flat-screen TV and on-demand movies an iPod docking station tea and coffee-making facilities and a bathroom with a rainfall-style shower. Guests can relax outside the hotel where there is an outdoor plasma screen and seating areas that are part of The Three Sisters cobbled courtyard which attracts a diverse mix of locals and tourists. Within a mile's walking distance from the hotel are Holyroodhouse Palace Festival Theater and the National Museum. Princes Street Gardens and Edinburgh Castle can be reached in 10 minutes on foot.

Good

Liked: Great for grassmarket, castle, the sights, party area great fun and lovely hotel and staff
Disliked: Just don’t think you should advertise air conditioning if its lowest setting is 21 degrees C. That’s not air con. That’s heating. Really makes sleeping hard if you’re an air con fan.

Good experience of Stay Central...

Liked: Very good for the stay hotel experience and kind of hotel staff. And then the opportunity of finding the castle ,restaurant and railway station. If possible I want to revisit the Stay Central hotel with my family.

Don’t stay on weekend if...

Liked: Good location to central old town Edinburgh and ability to have more beds. Ping pong table and big screens showing soccer were nice. If I didn’t have kids with me I would have enjoyed the party scene atmosphere in courtyard more.
Disliked: Not kid/family friendly when you have to walk thru loud, drinking, crazy party scene to get to room. Then you are kept awake until early morning with loud music, people banging doors to go to bathroom and loud banging above us until 2am. Don’t recommend this place for weekend stay if you have kids. Beds were not comfortable and room was very warm. Fan didn’t work much and bathroom door had a large gap right by toilet that had to be covered up. Also no elevator but stairs.

Not recommended, only if you...

Liked: Rooms were clean, nice bathroom
Disliked: God damn club next door. Super loud until 2am. Could not sleep at all.Staff seems not to care, wifi didn't work properly, could not even buy coffee in the morning due to technical problems. And the cleaning Lady didn't even knock, just entered the room at 10 am, one hour before official check out.

Liked: Nice location, comfort bed
Disliked: Both the WiFi signal and mobile signal are poor on bed. May be too many people downstairs in the pub connecting to it. Strengthen this part may be better.
