Liked: Great central location, easy to find.
Disliked: the blanket on the bed was very thin and felt like we were barely warm enough, glad to have the heater going, but an extra blanket on offer for a bit of extra warmth would have been good.

Disliked: Very cold. Heater did not provide sufficient heat even on full for whole night. No electric blanket or spare blankets. Thin quilt so I froze all night. Bed only had a sheet on top of mattress with no protector or topper

Pleasant

Great location but basic customer...

Liked: The location was excellent and the meal that I bought in the pub part was good and the staff in there were helpful.
Disliked: Upon arrival in my room the toilet paper hadn't been replenished - there was maybe a quarter of a roll. In addition, neither had the tissues - though obviously, toilet paper is a just a bit more important! As it's an un-attended hotel reception I had to ask at the pub for more. The pub was very busy that night; having to go to a busy pub and ask for toilet paper is embarrassing.The common areas (ie the foyer, carpets in the corridors) need a bit of love. While I don't have any objection to things being a bit old and frayed, the downstairs foyer needs what is broken thrown out; moreover, the whole time I was there it looked like the carpets upstairs had been strewn with cracker crumbs or something. I understand that housekeeping might have had the weekend off given that it was Easter, but surely there's a work-around on that. In addition, there seemed to be a staff room as well as hotel sleeping quarters upstairs. I would hear people going to and from and the internal stairs that lead downstairs to the kitchens/ other staff areas. I understand, the staff need somewhere to spend down-time, but they were very noisy, laughing and talking at night-time when people are wanting to sleep.

Jack made my first night...

Liked: Jack the host was very friendly and extremely helpful. My flight was delayed 8 hours and he came to the hotel to help me check in just before midnight. He was very accomodating, if there were more people like Jack in the world, it would be a better place. He did this just because he is a good person and i really appreciate that he helped me out after the airline stuffed up my travel plans. Big thank you to Jack.
Disliked: Less road noise.

A basic but comfortable room...

Liked: The location was excellent. The room was basic, but all I needed for a short stay.
Disliked: It was a little noisy, but that is to be expected in a hotel and it didn't cause me any loss of sleep. The window was to the corridor only. An external window would have been nice.
