Stanley House Hotel

Terrible!

Liked: Location was vey good.
Disliked: The hotel is very worn and dirty! The room carpet was just so worn and dirty, so did`t take off shoes and did not want to be on socks at all. Dining room looked awful (an electrical panel was open in dining room!!!) and breakfast itself was horrible. People (employees family or friends) just walked in and out from little kitchen, where the food was prepared and served. Kids were so shocked.

Liked: The location was useful for Victoria Coach station and being able to store luggage before and after check in and out. I checked about providing coeliac safe breakfast before I went and they advised they couldn't cater but I could take my own, they were responsive to messages.
Disliked: There was a toilet in the landing that the leaked over the floor, there were building items against the hallway wall, our bathroom was grubby and the sink tap linked. There were no fire regulations and the walls were very thin, the room smelt musty, shower cubicle was mouldy. The breakfast room was too busy and disorganised

Disliked: the window didn't close their were no tea or coffee making facilities in the room the machine in the lobby had tea but gave sugar in both options the room needs updating and cleaning properly.thwir were stains on walls and floors

Liked: I had a double room with bathroom and shower facilities. Room 16 on the third floor. The room was clean and tidy with a great view over London. The room was cleaned and tidied and towels changed on a daily basis.Every member of staff was pleasant and helpful. The street itself was quiet but two minutes walk and there were pubs, cafes, restaurants and a great atmosphere. Victoria Station/underground/bus and coach stations are 10 minutes walk away as are a couple of theatres. A great location.
Disliked: This is a two star hotel and some of the communal areas whilst clean were tired which may bother some folk.The rooms don't have tea/coffee making facilities although I think these are available in the communal lounge on the ground floor. Possibly these could be made available on an individual basis for those on the upper floors?

Liked: Good price, free English breakfast, clean.
Disliked: Basement room with a bad smell outside the window. It's not possible to open the window in the bathroom with the toilet. Basically, there are no facilities - no fridge, kettle, or microwave, not even in the common space.
