Perfect place, beautiful hotel and...
Liked: The room was lovely, looking out over the pond at front of hotel. Bed was really comfortable. We stayed on one of the hottest nights of the year and the room was very warm. Only one window opened so was a little stuffy but we do not get many nights like that. The staff were really helpful and we had a relaxing stay.Checked out at 11 but went to terrace and ordered coffee and drinks and spent a couple of hours sitting in the sun, relaxing until it was time to go to wedding. The grounds are stunning and the hotel is beautiful.
Disliked: My son had a room with Air Con so was a little envious, apart from that everything was great, we had enough room comfortable bed, lovely shower...nothing to 'not like'

Lovely hotel - but take...
Liked: Well presented and furnished. very comfortable and good, well cooked food.
Disliked: I would have given this hotel a 10, except that our room (214) had no air conditioning and the windows had a ridiculous safety cable which only allowed an opening of 3”, which meant that (although we were given a fan on request) the room was far too hot for a good nights sleep.

Really Good, 10 Minutes from...
Liked: This is a great place to stay if you are going in or out of Gatwick - where the hotel options are not all that fab. They have a lovely garden and terrace, if it's that time of year. The rooms are comfortable and the bathrooms are good. they serve breakfast from 6 AM, and the bar stays open until 11PM. We didn't have dinner, so I can't say what that was like, but breakfast was good - with a proper coffee machine that worked, and was easy to use. Amazing! And... it's 10 minutes from Gatwick. What really stood out though were the staff. Incredibly helpful. I - stupidly - left my glasses behind when we were coming home. This is what comes of wearing sunglasses for 2 weeks. Blissful. But you forget your proper glasses. Stanhill Court had them and was in touch with me before we even got home, and that despite the hotel being taken over for a wedding. They arranged to get them back to me, and couldn't have been nicer about it. So. Yes. Good Place!
Disliked: Lift is noisy. Try to get a room away from it.

The stay was spoilt due...
Liked: The building and location
Disliked: There was a very noisy event taking place directly underneath our room. Staff were unable to move us to an alternative room. While fortunately the loud music stopped at 11pm staff were moving furniture in the disco area until the early hours so we had very little sleep. Furniture was being dragged across the floor. This completely spoilt our stay. We complained to the receptionist who didn’t seem to care and just said “sorry” and that was it. Also the breakfast was stone cold. We usually don’t complain but the response was really poor.

Lovely hotel, close to Gatwick...
Liked: The building and grounds are stunning. And so too are the staff, especially the receptionist for helping us with a taxi for a wedding the following day. And with such warm weather, the water in the room was appreciated.
Disliked: Breakfast on the Saturday morning was a bit chaotic, with one waiter who worked really hard but couldn't cope with the amount of people. Food and drinks needed lots of replenishment. Extra staff on Sunday helped improve service.
