Overall a pleasant and convenient...
Liked: Did not eat at hotel or breakfast.so cannot comment. Ideal location for a wedding nearby, Lift to first floor bedroom a mustas my wife has difficulty with stairs. Disabled parking spot near front entrance.
Disliked: comfy room but quite hot with limited window opening , a fan would be needed if it was a hotter night.Disabled spot needs bushes cutting back so passenger can get out of the car. Mattress a bit on the firm side for my liking.

Manor Getaway
Liked: Gorgeous grounds - we even saw pheasants on the drive up which, to a foreigner, was really exciting!Plenty of space for parking, and no trouble finding a spot big enough for our 7-seater SUV.A really comfortable stay - our room was spacious enough to fit ourselves and our dog comfortably, all the feel of a hotel but in a manor house. The staff assigned to our function were attentive, and the organiser made a lot of effort to keep in touch with our friends who arranged the event. However, the bar staff really outshone the rest - they went above and beyond and were just so wonderful to all of us at the event. Our doggo (a Corgi-cross) lived her best 5-star life - she truly let out the fox in her. She ran lap after lap around the grounds, and sniffed out all of the squirrels. Exceptional traditional British breakfast - really quality produce (proper thick cut bacon, traditional beans, plenty of pastries and cereals to cater even for those with gluten intolerances, sourdough breads, etc etc).
Disliked: Bit of a rickety start checking in - had booked a double room, and were allocated a twin room. Because only the lower ground rooms allowed pets, there was hesitation on availability of another room. Ultimately, however, this was resolved. In more than one location on the grounds we saw drink glasses / cans / bottle tops that had clearly been left for some time (on the terrace lawns near the fields, at the side of the conservatory, and at the wedding chapel area on a table there). Just made for a more cautious walk around the property, and took away from the otherwise stunning location.Pet friendly establishment, but there was nowhere to discreetly dispose of the waste - it was a bit awkward asking bar staff to bring a black bag out so often.I know it's common practice, but I question the £45 surcharge for dogs - especially the smaller breeds and older in years. I can't quite understand what "extra" cleaning would be needed, above what would normally have been expected for leaving guests. I have seen establishments charge less (around £25), which would seem more reasonable, but perhaps some sort of sliding scale would be more appropriate? Or based on inspection like a deposit of sorts? Just something to consider - in no way were we misled on what to expect in this regard, and we were very grateful to be able to bring her with us so she could also enjoy some fresh country air.

Great location, lovely room.
Liked: Location and the hotel grounds were amazing. Our room (110) was a great size, well equipped, well furnished, and had a great shower. We overlooked the rear lawn and countryside, which was beautiful. We had a pizza in the bar, which was delicious. Easy to book a taxi to Gatwick (costs about £20)
Disliked: Reception staff weren't very energetic when we checked in. Felt like a bit of an effort for them (although in fairness they DID sort the pizza for us because we arrived late of a flight). Having breakfast in a conference room felt a bit impersonal.
