Comfortable

Liked: Breakfast was good, interesting split between a la carte on Saturday and buffet on Sunday mornings. Staff were better on Sunday morning despite there being hardly any guests in the dining room on either day. Generally staff were attentive and friendly.Bedroom was good in parts. Comfortable with a creaky floor which proved we were in the original building!Fantastic grounds and fascinating to walk through the old abbey buildings and go up the tower. The nuns certainly lived in some splendour!
Disliked: The wardrobe was really quite a cheap item which didn't really work, doors were sticky and difficult to slide. The tea tray was hidden inside in the dark. Having removed the kettle and its short power lead there was no real option but to put it on the bedside table which was not the safest place. I'm sure we could have asked for more milk but 4 of those horrible little plastic milk containers for two people doesn't really give the right impression. Other hotels have small fridges and can supply fresh milk (better for the environment as well). Bathroom was very good but why (in common with many hotels) have one towel rail for two people while giving us each a bath and hand towel plus a facecloth? Many hotels around the world now give guests the option to continue using their towels for more than one night. We would be happy to but not if we cannot dry them before using again.

Liked: The overall stay was exceptional.. the only thing and this is truly not a criticism. The breakfast to the room. The bacon and sausage was not freshly cooked. On Sunday morning it was freshly cooked…. That is all I can say.The overall stay was truly outstanding x
Disliked: There was nothing I didn’t like. The staff were outstandingly helpful and kind.
