The Spotlight on St Nicholas House

Charming Manor Retreat Near Mid-Size Concert Cities

St Nicholas House is a beautifully restored 18th-century manor nestled in the peaceful Lincolnshire countryside, conveniently located between Spalding and Market Deeping. With its elegant character and updated modern comforts, this boutique hotel offers a relaxed yet stylish base for travelers heading to gigs in Boston, Peterborough, or even further afield to Cambridge or Lincoln.
Think countryside calm with a touch of historic charm—perfect for unwinding after a big night out.

Why Concert-goers love it

The location offers the best of both worlds: easy access to regional venues by car and a peaceful rural setting for a quiet post-show wind down. Free parking makes it ideal for road-tripping music fans, and the flexible 4pm check-in gives you time to arrive at your own pace. After a late night, you’ll appreciate the serene surroundings and comfy, private en-suite rooms.

Who this Hotel is great for

Food and Drink Options

Start your day with a hearty cooked full English or continental breakfast, perfect for those recovering from a night out. While there's no 24/7 room service, the friendly staff are happy to help with local dining tips or arrange meals with a bit of notice.

What People Say

Guests love the charming blend of old and new, with many praising the peaceful location, clean and comfortable rooms, and warm, helpful staff. The breakfast gets consistent thumbs up, and travelers appreciate the value for money and easy parking.

Areas for Improvement

Because of its rural setting, you'll need a car or taxi to reach concert venues—no late-night public transport here. Some guests mention the WiFi can be spotty in certain rooms, but it’s generally reliable in common areas.

A Heaven sent break! Beautiful,...

Liked: I was in the family room which was immaculately clean and incredibly quiet. I was escorted by the owner and her great grandson, who did a marvelous job as porter for my weekend bag. Everyone was so welcoming and respectful! My room had a commanding view of the beautiful Lincolnshire landscapes and I was able to bird watch a little onto the fens out of my window. I was able to chill right out before I went down to dinner. Nothing was too much to organise or cook for me! I had the best steak I had eaten in years! Incredibly tasty and well-prepared food with some very decent wine too! I took time to walk around their charming and beautifully kept garden which was a pleasure in itself. My hosts were delightful and more than happy to chat with me, as I with them. I was suitably relaxed and had a wonderful night's sleep in their fabulously comfy bed. The bath before hand was very much appreciated, it was of a shape I could get in and out of easily with a seated shelf in it. This assists me as I had injured my hand on a trip abroad and was not confident of getting in and out of baths usually. I was served the most amazing breakfast with lashings of fresh toast and fill ups of hot coffee. I'd definitely stay again. What an amazing find and such genuinely friendly, helpful hosts.
