Liked: Beautiful hotel and grounds. Breakfast outstanding

A wonderful mini break

Liked: Beautiful old hotel with lots of character. The location was very good with stunning grounds. All the staff were so attentive and welcoming. The breakfast was superb- could not fault it at all.
Disliked: The only slight issue was that our room was on the top floor and you could hear a constant hum coming from the kitchens below. We think it was the fans. It did stop at night which we were very thankful for.

Superb

Liked: The breakfast selection was excellent, I have a gluten intolerance and the selection was the best I have ever had at breakfast. We also had an evening meal and it was delicious.
Disliked: Can’t say much about the stay in a negative way, a little tidying up decor wise, and that was minimal.

A pleasant short stay.

Liked: Comfortable room, efficient, friendly service. All the hotel interiors had a pleasant ambience.

Liked: Beautiful hotel, great location.
Disliked: Some of the decor was a little tired in certain areas. The stairs to our room had wallpaper ripped and peeling so could do with replacing, but on the whole it was great.

Very good

Great place to stay to...

Liked: The setting and location were amazing. Just a few minutes walk from the city centre and the Roman remains. The grounds were great to walk round. With the big pond full of fish and birds. Very quiet and peaceful.
Disliked: Nothing. It was perfect.

An excellent short stay in...

Liked: The room was absolutely gorgeous right on the top floor with beautiful views of the gardens and lake outside. It was very spacious with the added comfort of armchairs and a desk to sit at. There was a plentiful supply of coffees and teas as well. The bed was very comfortable and spacious and we slept very well indeed. Breakfast was out of this world. Such a range of delicious foods to cater for every taste.
Disliked: Maybe a few more biscuits would have been nice but not a must ! The TV reception was not the best but these are just trivial things as we loved our stay and would definitely consider coming again should the opportunity arise.
