St Columbs House

Liked: Good location. Car park in the premises. Quiet.
Disliked: We stayed in the apartment. It wasn’t ready when we arrived (8:30pm). Cutlery wasn’t really clean. Missing lots of details in the bathroom (hair dryer, bath mat, hand soap, something for hanging towels/leave stuff in there). The fridge was off when we arrived. It should be on to have it already cold. No sense to have it off and waiting for it to get cold if you bring your food.Card machine “broken”. To sum up, we wouldn’t recommend the apartment. Can’t say anything about the rooms in the main building.

Liked: Good location for Inishowen PeninsulaBrian was a lovely host and very helpful. He even took us to a restaurant for evening meal and picked us up later.

Liked: Great location near to town centre the owner was very pleasant
Disliked: The breakfast was very poor more selection of cereal than anything else

Very disappointed. Would not recommend...

Liked: The breakfast was very poor. No hot food at all the presentation of the food was very poor. The location was good.
Disliked: The pillows. The ensuite was very small. The host changed his mind about late to check out.

I have traveled the world...

Liked: Absolutely nothing.
Disliked: Midges in the room, no glasses for the water that was supplied, a DIY breakfast of awful juice, average boiled eggs, cheap sliced bread and no option of a cooked breakfast. There was also a hole in the wall in the room

Great location, but not all...

Liked: Great location and the house, which has been restored to a very good standard, will be great when it’s finished. The owner (Brian) had lots of good advice about where to visit (and not visit!) both in Buncrana and the surrounding area. Beds were very comfy.
Disliked: The whole facility is nearly there in terms of a well functioning hotel. However there’s no discernible reception and you have to hunt around for Brian to check in (admittedly we were early). Lots of things missing from the room that were included in the listing - no kettle, tea/coffee making facilities, mini-bar etc. No bin in one room. There seemed to be random stuff in the corridors - pegs on the stairs, lamps, towels, and an empty fridge! Our bathroom was very small, so much so it was difficult to wash your face without head butting the shelf. The window/blackout blind was tied off high up so we couldn’t close it at night. The balcony area was a nice addition but the old plastic chairs let it down. Couldn’t pay by card on leaving so had to go to the cash machine.
