Exceptional
Liked: Iona has a very welcoming and friendly community. The hotel feels like an extension of that. The staff make you feel at home; the location is stunning; and the attention to detail and restaurant offer really make staying at st columba really special.

Liked: The breakfast was good. The hotel location very good
Disliked: The evening meals were not what we had hoped for. The menus were very sophisticated. We like simple, traditional food. The garden vegetables were rather old and tough. We did not enjoy the evening meals.

Lovely Hotel and staff in...
Liked: Great welcome at reception and bags were looked after until check in time (even transferred to our room). We had a nice lunch in the garden then a superb dinner in the lounge (even our Husky dog was well looked after). The location is stunning with so many beautiful aspects it's impossible to list them all. Staff were welcoming, helpful and informative, a real pleasure to talk with. We will be back again next year for sure, it was such a great weekend.

Very good
Liked: Warm, lovely views, plenty of staff but not very attentive. The reception staff were excellent, chatty and offered to help with our luggage AND drove us back to the ferry when we were ready to leave.
Disliked: Very loud party of Americans who were eating their own food and were sprawled across the residents lounge running the young girls (waitresses) ragged! Our room had not been cleaned properly as the dust was thick on the head boards and the skirting boards, the glass shelf in the bathroom was very streaky as was the dressing table top.The bedside table was ringmarked and streaky as well. I know these are small points but when paying £200 + for a night would have expected a bit more attention to detail. 🤔
