The Spotlight on St Christopher's Hammersmith

Affordable, social hostel in West London near top music venues

St Christopher's Hammersmith is a lively, budget-friendly hostel located just a 2-minute walk from Hammersmith Tube Station—putting you within easy reach of central London and some of the capital's biggest concert venues. With a youthful, energetic vibe and a built-in bar downstairs, it's a great choice for music fans looking to stay somewhere fun and affordable.

Why Concert-goers love it

Location is everything, and this hostel nails it. You're steps from the Tube (District and Piccadilly lines) and surrounded by pubs, bars, and the Broadway Shopping Centre. Getting to iconic venues like the Eventim Apollo or heading into central London for a stadium show is a breeze, especially with 24-hour night buses running straight through Hammersmith. The hostel's proximity to transport and late-night food, along with flexible check-in at 15:00, make it a solid base for concert nights.

Who this Hotel is great for

  • Groups of friends looking for a social atmosphere and budget digs
  • Solo travelers on a concert pilgrimage
  • Couples wanting an affordable weekend break
  • Fans who want to chill after the show but still be near the action
  • Budget-conscious music lovers who prioritize location and atmosphere

Food and Drink Options

The on-site Belushi’s Bar serves up home-cooked meals, daily drink deals, and late-night bites—plus, guests get 25% off food and drinks. A continental breakfast is available daily, perfect after a late night out. While there’s no room service, the surrounding streets offer plenty of walkable food options late into the evening.

Nightlife Options

With Belushi’s Bar right downstairs, you don’t have to go far for affordable drinks and a fun crowd. For even more action, Hammersmith has loads of pubs and bars within walking distance, and the Tube connects you to all of London’s nightlife hotspots in under 30 minutes.

What People Say

Guests love the top-notch location and the sociable vibe. Reviews often highlight the friendly staff, useful local tips, and great value for money. The bar is a hit with travelers looking to meet people before or after gigs, and the hostel’s discounts on food and drinks are a welcome bonus.

Areas for Improvement

This is a hostel, so expect shared bathrooms and some noise from the bar below—especially on weekends. It’s not the best pick if you’re after luxury or total quiet, but earplugs and chill-out lounges help balance the energy.

The Bottom Line

If you're after an affordable, fun and super-convenient base for your London concert trip, St Christopher's Hammersmith hits all the right notes.

Sports bar cold, rooms hot

Liked: Loved the pub and the sports bar with the giant screen and A/C. Free cold water, too. This is a nice place to hang out, which, as a backpacker, you need. Location is actually quite nice as Hammersmith is a cool part of London.
Disliked: Rooms have no windows and no vents, so on a hot day this is a smelly, hot sauna, all day and all night. The only small breath of fresh air you can get is in the toilet.

Passable for a short duration

Liked: Location is good. Pub was good. Food options decent. Staff were friendly
Disliked: The bathrooms smelled really bad. The beds were arranged weirdly in the room. The window couldn't be closed so it was always noisy.
