Has massive potential with some...
Liked: Staff were really friendly and helpful. Location was near enough to my event to be useful and it was the cheapest priced room I could find that included breakfast. Was really grateful they went out their way to provide soya milk for my breakfast. I enjoyed sitting out the garden in the evening. My bed was super comfortable and I didn’t have any of my usual back problems from sleeping in a hotel bed. For such a tiny room I have never been provided so many plug sockets!! There were 4 above the desk and 2 at the foot of the bed. I don’t have access to that many sockets in my large double bedroom at home! I couldn’t believe it. Annoyingly I had travelled light with my chargers because I was only staying one night, so couldn't even make use of them all lol
Disliked: My room was really tiny. Just big enough for a single bed and a desk. It felt like it would have been better suited to be a store room than a bedroom. Outside my window was all the bins so I couldn’t open it. The room smelt damp and mouldy, I believe this came from the shower room. There was some black mould on the wall next to the toilet and streaks of moisture staining the paint work. I did appreciate having my own toilet and shower but in such a small room with a window you couldn’t open, you are just inviting damp problems. I could only rid myself of the smell by keeping the bathroom door shut and having the extractor fan (with the light switched on) on all night. Breakfast needs a lot of improvement. Cooked breakfast was awful; scrambled eggs were slimy in the middle, hash browns were greasy on the outside and mush on the inside, beans were definitely microwaved. I also think the apple juice was off, it had a fizzy sensation on the tongue when you drank it but it wasn’t carbonated. Pastry selection wasn’t refilled during the time I was in the dinning room and people where coming in while there was nothing left, I asked for an ironing board and the one they gave me looked as old at the building itself. Im glad they provided it but it was barely usable. The elastic on the cover had worn out and no longer fit on it. The building has so much potential but needs investment to get it to a nice standard. It could be a luxury hotel with its large event spaces. It is currently undergoing renovations, and I would be curious to stay again to see what they improve.

Liked: Room 10 ambiance was quaint and romantic. Air conditioner works well. Bathroom shower was spacious with great water pressure. The bed was comfortable.
Disliked: Toilet runs. No curtain in bathroom. Main room curtain was shorter than the window and let light in.
