SpringHill Suites by Marriott Anchorage Midtown

I love the Springhill suites,...

Liked: Very friendly staff & clean hotel . The continental breakfast in the morning had a lot of variety very fresh food was a nice treat as we were here on medical and had no time to leave before our appointments.
Disliked: I was concerned of the location lots of transits homeless people loitering around…it has changed a lot in downtown Anchorage number one the property has posted signs that they’re not responsible for a vehicle on their property? I had a hard time sleeping do to outside street noise I was on the side above the front desk overlooking parking lot & main Street runs in front of the hotel. My bed was right next to the window. Only other complaint was I had reserved a king suite with handicap facilities once entering our room we had two queen double beds. They were not able to give the room I had pre-purchased so they had already gave our room a way ? I’m not sure why they would do that knowing I had reserved & pain for that type of room! They didn’t even tell us at check-in about it found out once I opened the door to the room to expect once we arrived to the room….they did apologize, but it was too late. I also had a problem with the phone as I was trying to call them once I figured out we had the wrong room. Her phone wasn’t working upon inspection. It was disconnected and the telephone cord was missing. The front desk girl said she would talk to her manager in the morning and give us the room the next day they would try to give us back that room the next day, but we we only booked one night.

Disliked: Unsafe area Aloy of homeless people on the property and looking in peoples cars. Felt unsafe to walk anywhere - they did have a security officer but a small female that stayed inside. There was so many kids there we couldn’t enjoy the pool or hot tub and they ran through the halls until late screaming

I'd go back if they...

Liked: The night clerk threatened my wife said he'll call the cops if she doesn't get out the lobby. The reason she was waiting in the lobby was for my return as the family left to get a quick meal from McDonald's. Unfortunately my wife locked herself out the room and had no key to enter the room and waited in the lobby, it is then that the clerk told her to exit the building or he's calling the cops

Our stay in Spring Hill...

Liked: The property was clean, location was good with close areas that we needed to go. Staff was amazing, they were welcoming.
Disliked: Nothing

Liked: The manager was super kind and helpful. She was so patient with my concerns and questions.
Disliked: the guy at checkout was not nice and the day time lead front desk lady was annoyed with everyone.
