Deceptive practices by this hotel

Liked: I can not comment on what I liked because we never got to stay here.
Disliked: I booked the room on 2/6/2025 for 2 nights. This was for a family wedding nearby. I was told by our family that there was also a track meet on that weekend, so I needed to get my reservation ASAP, which I did. Our stay was to be on Friday 6/6 and Saturday 6/7. On 5/11 I received a message from the hotel telling me that they cancelled and fully refunded my $690.08 because they had a flood at the property. I then called them asking if it would be resolved before my scheduled stay (almost a month away) and was told it was 'complicated' and they wouldn't have a room. When I called them again in June to see if the problem was resolved, I was told that they had overbooked the hotel and had to cancel some reservations. This seems deceptive to me. So I booked elsewhere - which cost me way more than I wanted to spend, and was about 30 minutes further away because everything was booked up in the town by then, due to the track meet. It has been almost a month since they cancelled and I have not been credited by $690.08.

Liked: Location, room size
Disliked: The hotel was under construction, which was not noted in the online description while booking.Some light switches didn't work, assuming due to construction, so you had to turn on random lamps for light.There was no hot water in the shower.The toilet paper was basically 1-ply.

Poor. The room charge was...

Liked: The room seemed clean. But it seemed like it was still under reconstruction.
Disliked: The free breakfast. There was no one keeping options available. There was no protein. The donuts seemed like they took them out of a Hostess bag. There were very few options available. I would rather not have been told that there was a free breakfast. My expectations would not have been there. If the hotel is not ready for people to stay, it should not be open during renovations. The fact that there were boxes all over the place was also not inviting. I will not stay there again, even when it's finished. It was very disappointing for a Wyndham brand hotel. Not what I am used to.

Liked: It was convenient area to have many options to accommodate my needs
Disliked: The only thing I didn't like was at the time of my stay there was remodeling going on so by 7am it was noisy with workers doing there thing.

It should be advertised that...

Liked: Location was fine.
Disliked: Hotle was under construction but we weren't told this. We got a King suite and the only thing in the room was a bed, TV and mini fridge. No sofa, no tables, lamps on the floor, no coffee maker, no breakfast...just mini chocolate and powdered donuts, no ice bucket in room, ice machine out of order, pool closed, construction mess everywhere. It was an extremely disappointing stay and for what was offered, the rooms should have been $20/night. Literally everything in the hotel was out of order. Only saw housekeeping once in the halls and had to ask for toilet paper and replacement bath towels and housekeeping didn't speak English so I had to find the 2 items on the cart and show them so I could get them.

Easter Visit

Liked: The bed was very comfortable and hotel was very quiet. The room rate was good.
Disliked: We have stayed there recently so we’re aware they are doing a lot of remodeling. This time the breakfast area was all ripped up with no breakfast offered. I feel the rooms are still being worked on. I will be happy when the work is completed as we enjoy staying at this hotel while visiting family.
