Lovely people, excellent breakfast, great...
Liked: Staff were great - room was comfortable (but small)
Disliked: The bed was relatively small and in a small room was just about a foot from the wall making access difficult - we had apparently been upgraded to this room - which was small and cosy. I do wonder how small the room was that we were upgraded from

Staying at the Southernhay House...
Liked: We loved the hotel as it still felt like a beautiful Georgian house. Our double was very nice, but now that I've seen some of the other rooms, ( and it was lovely to have a look around,) I would book a larger one next time. Although quite small, the room was beautifully furnished and had a lovely ensuite shower room. Breakfast was excellent and all the staff we encountered were friendly and extremely helpful. We will definitely be back.
Disliked: Only the size of the room, but in an original Georgian house we realise that there have to be some compromises if you book one of the cheaper rooms at short notice. We will book earlier next time and have one of the bigger ones.

Fantastic apart from the parking...
Liked: Wonderful breakfast.
Engaging and welcoming staff.
Disliked: Parking is not on site and during busy periods it is difficult to find parking close to the hotel, especially since the closest car park has recently been closed. It is possible to pull in and drop luggage however.

Disliked: Payed £205 I think £140-£150 would of been better and the food was rubbish

Beautiful hotel within Exeter City...
Liked: Great location, beautiful interior design, very clean, friendly staff!
Disliked: The room we were in (Silk) was beautiful but we were woken several times by people walking down the lane by the side of the room window. If you wanted a biscuit with your cup of tea or extra treats they came at a cost as did any shampoo, body lotion or shower product. £17 for each bottle. I?m sure it?s lovely but a tad overpriced. Breakfast we felt as it wasn?t included in the price of our stay was also a bit overpriced so we popped into the city for some instead. That?s just a personal opinion but I?m sure some will still pay the prices despite what we think!

Liked: Love the location. Like the bar and overall venue. Tulip room was great
Disliked: No parking. Having to pay in full on arrival. It?s not a nice touch. Not enough pillows and room was way too hot. We had to sleep with all the windows wide open.

Best stay we have had...
Liked: Lovely hotel.. the staff are brilliant, could not do enough for us. The property is a few hundred years old so a few quirky bits but it is a very lovely old building. The only complaint I had with my stay was the bed. We stayed in the "Opium" room and it has a sleigh bed, the headboard was VERY uncomfortable and the mattress was to soft but it would not stop me staying there again I would just specify a different room. The breakfast was delicious, maybe a little pricey for the amount you get but very good food. Location is perfect, 2 or 3 minutes into city centre and the cathedral but far enough out of the way to be quiet. All in all a fantastic stay and would highly recommend a stay at the hotel.
Disliked: Unfortunately I got the uncomfortable bed, other than that ..perfect..
