Not feeling the love anymore...

Liked: Convenient to the Galleria and restaurants around the hotel. Can walk to great restaurants.
Disliked: I tried to call the front desk to request a late check out. Phone in my room was not working to call the front desk, housekeeping or anything else, just rang busy. I ended up calling the front desk on my cell phone. When I asked, they were'nt having it. Told me I would need to pay $45-$50+ for a late check out. I said I booked through Booking.com and my status gives me comp late check out. When he checked he said no, I don't have that option listed and need to pay for it. I only requested late check out because I was tired and had to travel back across the state from Boca to Sarasota when I left and needed to sleep a little longer. I have stayed at this hotel on numerous occasions and the last 2 times, have not been up to their normal stays. After today, I will no longer be staying there. They have lost my business.

Liked: Location is great, the room is clean, the beds are comfortable.

Disliked: I was very disappointed with my stay. There was mold in the tub, and the fridge wasn’t working it had a strong, unpleasant odor. When I informed the housekeeper, she came into the room and sprayed something to cover the smell, but it only made things worse, keep in mind it already had a vomit-like odor. The carpet had visible stains, and most of the electrical outlets didn’t work. Only one outlet was functional, and it wasn’t near the nightstand, so I had to sit near the TV to charge my phone before I could even get in bed.Overall, the condition of the room was unacceptable and far below standard

Did not get what I...

Liked: Front desk staff really seemed to try and help. Manager I worked with (on room assignment) really tired to make situation better. But, the room I wanted, never became available (have no idea why?). Read below.What did I like? Sonesta is near to people I needed to visit. However, there are many other options nearby.
Disliked: What I do not care for at this property is the rooms with balcony's. The balcony's are very narrow (maybe 8 to 10". Maybe wider, but no room for very small table, never a chair. Once I realized that was the case for all floors above ground I knew I liked this place, but only with a ground floor room assignment. Patio area etc. I had requested a King Suite (2 rooms I believe). Well, there may have been one, but I was continually told at check-in that it would be an hour before it was ready. Well past published check-in time. ?? Same story, after another hour. I was never told of the reason. Dog poop?Anyway, I was finally put in a ground floor King room (not suite (2 rooms)) that I had paid for. Well, the manager did offer 25% reduction in the rate. But, this was not comparable rate to what Booking.com published, when I checked.Room was nice! However, I was charged a higher rate than if I had gone through Booking.com.Folks, the balcony's are minimal and hardly worth it (my experience and opinion).I am returning to the Boca in June, '25 (next month). AND, I have made reservations for 6 nights at a different hotel. No more Sonesta for me (unless an emergency).
