Sonesta Hotel Grand Rapids Airport

It's not a word, but that's how I describe my stay, fantabulous! All the employees were very nice and helpful. My room was both clean and cozy, the hotel was walking distance to the mall, the movie theater and several great restaurants. Plus, in the parking lot is a Starbucks and across the street is the best doughnut shop ever! There is no doubt that when I come back to Grand Rapids I'm staying at the Ramada Inn.

Disliked: Housekeeping was pushy - knocked the first time at 8:30am. 15 minutes later then just tried to walk in.

We didn't spend much time in our room. It was comfortable. We did like that it was connected to the "Old Chicago" Bar & Grill as it was pouring outside and didn't want to venture out for food. The pizza was AMAZING!

Liked: Very clean and nicely furnished
Disliked: AC unit in our room rattled all night long

Disappointing

Liked: The location is great. We were centrally located to all the places we planned to visit. Most of the staff was very friendly and accomodating with the exception of one person. For the most part, the room was clean, comfortable, and a good value.
Disliked: A lot of shady characters (not guests) hanging around the back lot near the door where we could have had closer access to our room but because of this, we chose to use the main entrance and walk further. A couple of things in the room need to be replaced/repaired. Especially the desk chair!!! Oh my word----why would you leave something that looks like that in a guest room? It was peeling badly and looked just horribly over-used.

Good accommodations and a pleasant...

Liked: The guest suite with kitchenette was ideal for our group of 4 adults and a baby. The man at the desk (Viktor) was unflappable while dealing with a difficult guest checking in before me and extremely apologetic that the situation caused a delay in my check-in process.
Disliked: There needed to be a larger trashcan in the kitchenette area. The toilet paper holder is placed in an awkward spot, causing you to knock the roll off when you sit on the toilet. We needed to ask to get more than two towels. When having a group of this size, it would have been nice to have some sort of dressing area so the bathroom wasn't tied up with people changing clothes. There were MANY people in the parking lot smoking weed both nights, which lingered on our clothes as we came and went.
