Sonesta ES Suites Jacksonville

I have never written a review like this one in my life. It seems this hotel has contracted with workers needing rooms, who do construction on the nearby (adjacent) highway. This hotel is especially not good for a single mother wishing to watch her son swim at Bolles. I left the hotel within one hour and luckily found a room at the Embassy Suites Baymeadows. There was no street noise, security much better, improved room, and it was $20 per night cheaper.

Liked: The front desk understood and "I believe cancelled my reservation".
Disliked: Loud noise from major Highway; poor security; poor internet service; safety hazard at step to enter room.

Liked: I did not want to leave, I love it so much. It was very peaceful, I had the best sleep ever. I could really tell I was on a vacation.

Disliked: Breakfast had very limited options. Grab and go. It seemed this facility was still stuck in COVID-19 fear, with a grab and go option and not many employees present anywhere it seemed. We're what, now 3 years past the start of COVID and this place is still terrified of this? Really? Not very family friendly. Room was decent enough size but definitely was showing it's age. The unit didn't even have sponges for cleaning dishes, no trash bags, and the shower didn't even have enough shampoo or conditioner in the stall. We had to go to the front desk to get everything, which is an inconvenience for an extended stay hotel. The dishes had a disgusting film on them that couldn't be removed. The dishwasher did work but was extremely loud and didn't have a rinsing agent port (it was ripped out), so this was probably why the dishes had a film on them. The kitchen table had differently sized chairs which made eating at the table very awkward, with the adults and children at different heights. I asked the front desk to swap out the chairs for all of the same size but they ignored us. Overall, a disappointing stay for the price. It was quiet but the road leading up to the hotel had some very shady people lingering outside and had an abandoned hotel about a block up the street. Would not recommend this place in hindsight.

Disliked: Paper thin floor made every sound from above room unbearable throughout entire evening. Front desk unsympathetic. Shower drain was clogged, sink drain was clogged.
