Sonesta ES Suites Chicago Downtown Magnificent Mile - Medical

Booked a room on 8/25/14 for a concert on 10/18/14. Called twice that day to confirm my reservation since I booked so far in advance. We showed up to check into the hotel a half an hour before we had to be at the show, only for the front desk to tell me the hotel was full and that they did not have a room for us to stay in. They offered us a room 20 miles away - I told them that was not going to work because we were out of town and had not only booked in advance, but called twice that day to confirm. They could not tell me why someone didn't mention this issue during the two prior calls that day. They ended up finding us a room next door and it worked out OK, but it took them almost 25 minutes to rectify the situation and we were late for the concert. Overall they did fix the issue but am not satisfied with the lack of communication, and the fact I watched them check in three additional customers after they told us they were at capacity.

Liked: Location
Disliked: Lines so long for food, left. Food running out, coffee out. I let the staff know I would be using the sofa sleeper for a bed, with no linens in the room. Ran out of toilet paper. Common-sense things. They provided those items but they should have been in the room.

The best vacation ever

Liked: Everything I had stayed here before and really enjoyed it and this time they just improve that much more I definitely will be staying here from now on
Disliked: The only thing I didn't like is the check-in I wish you know that whenever you get here you can go and check in as long as your room is ready but I get a lot of times rooms aren't ready so you know if anything that was it

Disliked: Breakfasts were poor, the same every day, usually changed one dish. No really good for kids

Liked: Great location, size of 1 bedroom suite was very large & quiet. Hotel was definitely a budget friendly hotel that attracts families and extended stay travelers.

Liked: Convenient location, apartment style rooms priced great, pet friendly, plenty of food options nearby
Disliked: No self parking option, can only valet but the staff was wonderful. There’s a parking garage nearby but we decided to just pay for the convenience of the valet. I’m kinda glad we did since it’s attached to the hotel building and only staff had access to it. The price was kinda steep but it is what it is.
