Liked: We chose the hotel because of the art deco decoration and wanted to see this. The Kauri wood panelling and doors were phenomenal and we would have loved more information about who designed the house, when it was built in more detail and who chose the finishes and flourishes on the ground floor. We hadn't got meals included in the price of our booking and stayed in for our evening meal and had our breakfast. The staff were friendly and the owners very welcoming. Breakfast had some gluten free options which were most welcome and could be mentioned on the menu. It would have been great to have a light bites option in the evening for my preference but the meals were tasty.
Disliked: All was well. As the shower is over the bath it is helpful to me to to know this when I book and it would be useful to add in some rails or grips.

Liked: The hotel was well placed for business trip to the area. Your typical chain accommodation can be a little soulless, but this hotel is was a welcome change. The staff were very friendly and competent, there was good food and a comfortable bar. Very pleased to have found this place and will be stopping here again.
