In an inner courtyard of an 18th-century mansion this eco-hotel is located within the walls of St. Jorge's Castle. It features rooms with free Wi-Fi in the historic Alfama neighborhood. All double-glazed rooms at the Castelo feature hardwood floors and a contemporary classic décor. They all have satellite flat-screen TV and a DVD player. The bathroom has a bathtub and robes. During evenings the Solar's elegant lounge area with original stone walls is a pleasant place to retreat with a drink from the bar. A relaxing haven

Liked: Lots of special touches (complimentary sparkling wine, free pastries, a decanter of port in the room).Amazing location: right next to the castle. Fantastic patio courtyards to relax in.

Exceeded our expectations coupled with...

Liked: The location was great to get around OLD TOWN on foot, to travel into Lisbon city and local restaurants. Bespoke in style with courteous, friendly and easy going hospitality… the breakfast were plentiful, the hotel and our room was clean and well looked after… We appreciated the nice touches from complimentary “bubbles”, to pastries, coffee and Porto in the room… and the odd Peacock. Thank you !
Disliked: We understood at the time of booking what to expect… in reality this was exceeded… thank you.

Exceptional

Liked: Solar do Castelo is a beautiful hotel hidden away in a quiet street beside the castle. We loved the tasteful decor, the excellent friendly service, the leisurely breakfasts and the relaxed atmosphere that was welcome after touring the city each day.

Lovely 4 day stay, would...

Liked: Breakfast was great, lots to choose from. Location was excellent, very high, but nice and quiet once you get there apart from the the Peacocks, but they live there lol. The staff were super friendly and helpful. The Hotel it self is very pretty and well kept. Would recommend.
Disliked: Mattress wasn't the most comfy, for me, apart from that I wouldn't change a thing.
