The Sohotel

Very good

Liked: I liked the overall Hotel Style and the subway connection pretty close to the hotel.
Disliked: The bathroom was quite small and not modern as the rest of the hotel and there was noise both from close rooms and the neighbourhood.

Pleasant surprise - quirky, but...

Liked: Since I had booked this for the whole family (three generations) I was super nervous. I am used to staying in nice hotels for work so this was afraid that the pictures would be nicer than reality. They are not. This quirky, artsy hotel was a pleasant surprise. Super clean, friendly and helpful staff, and cute with rooms that can fit a family of five or group of friends.
Disliked: I did not like the very strong scent (fragrance sticks?) when you came into the foyer and reception area of the hotel. It felt like someone was trying to cover up something. I was glad there was no smell in the room.

Nice hotel but in need...

Liked: The property was perfectly located and within walking distance from all our travel plans in the SoHo, Financial District areas.
Disliked: The property had no elevator and the reception is on level 1, & our room was on level 2 - we had 3 big bags and had to carry all of this up ourselves. The rooms are also very dated the floorboards were chipped and cracking and the bathroom door damaged from water. The room was otherwise clean, but there is no room service unless you ask for it.

Exceptional

Liked: The neighborhood, the hotel, and the room itself were exceptional
Disliked: Going up without elevators was tough but very much expected with a historic hotel; other than that, we had a great stay at the hotel

Superb

Liked: The atmosphere and music aa the location
Disliked: Room was small (aa in nyc often is)

Great location and pleasant stay.

Liked: The location and the comfort of the upgraded room we opted for.
Disliked: Did not realize there wasn't an elevator when we booked. The walls were a little thin—we could hear running water throughout the night.

Nice hotel, great location but...

Liked: Location is good, at the border of Soho and close to metro. Very friendly staff. Decoration is very nice.
Disliked: The noise. The first night we were next to an area with servers. Staff was very friendly and moved us to another room. However, outside were some huge generators, which madr a lot of noose during the night, turning off and on all the time. If you sleep with closed windows it’s not a problem, for us it was. Rooms are very expensive for the size and service (cleaning on demand).
