Ok
Liked: Nice hotel
Disliked: Had very noisy neighbours that were outside in corridor and shouting lots

Good location, average attitude
Liked: Location was great and presentation of lobby immaculate.
Disliked: No pool/spa facilities, room service closed during our stay. Concierge were incredibly polite and helpful, every interaction was pleasant. An older blonde/brown haired lady was degrading and rude regarding us booking in with booking.com, made us feel inadequate for the hotel despite paying like everyone else. Shower had mould in the corners and a wall had a hole that had been patched however obviously not finished. The bathroom door is a bit odd, toilet paper was in an awkward spot when using the toilet. Bed was comfy and clean otherwise.Convenient restaurants in the building with delicious food.

Liked: Exceptional service and room was beautiful.
Disliked: Breakfast staff needed to explain where how the service worked and provide water. We ear dropped another table to know where the fruit was. Tea and coffee took 25 min to arrive.

Disliked: Ignored by the doorman. Could not find reception and when I did it took over 7 minutes to check me in. The unsupported Asian staff member kept telling me that I had no booking when I had my written confirmation to show her. It was sooo frustrating. I asked who the General Manager was and I was told that there wasn’t one. No Duty Manager around either. I asked where my room was located ie facing Chifley Plaza three times and was confirmed each time. Not true and to make matters worse my room was next to a lift. A shockingly poor start to a birthday trip to the hotel that I used to work in. Horror upon horror I receive an email advising me that I am checking out the next morning. False I had prepaid for two nights plus paid a $750 airfare from NZ to do so. I forgave being referred to as Mr in an earlier communication but this Sofitel experience is starting to majorly disappoint me. I spoke to a smart Alex receptionist to advise that I was booked for two nights not one and could she please confirm this plus explain to me why I received this false message. She started giving me a BS story and I told her to stop as I am a luxury hotel manager and what she was saying was not Only incorrect but insulting. Not the best start to a new day feeling and being treated so badly by Sofitel staff. I looked for a ground floor bathroom and only found an appalling behind the scenes area that would shock anyone. It is the space on the right hand side of the escalators with trash the whole way down parallel with the restaurant. Please clean it upToilets are offensive. No air system so repelled by odours. Another guest next me experienced the same thing. We were going to go to Chifley plaza The room was fine. But the experience was dreadful I will go elsewhere next trip.
