Fabulous hotel for a family...

Liked: The hotel room was well decorated, clean, and not cluttered in the least bit. From the lobby, to the room, it felt like a very well taken care and thoughtful hotel.
Disliked: Nothing I can think of!

Stay at Smyth Tribeca

Liked: Location and nice room
Disliked: The treatment from the staff, especially their main manager. The breakfast was included on the reservation and confirmed by the lady at reception. However at the end of the stay we were asked to pay full amount. After long dispute, we paid 300 dollars, just to be done with it. We were not supposed to pay any of this. On top of this, 2 weeks after our stay we see that they try to charge our credit card with additional amounts of around 200 USD. Thankfully they got rejected, but I am at loss of words for this behavior. No answer from hotel, despite several letters. We had to raise a complaint at customer protection service in new York. I don't even mention that 2 days of our stay were ruined by this treatment and nobody seems to take responsibility for this. I would recommend to stay away from this hotel, as this is all very bad, strange and unexplainable behavior in this industry.

Disliked: Bathroom lighting is poor - all hotel bathrooms need a night light rather than the blast of 1000 watts in the middle of the night.

Dirty, run down hotel, rude...

Liked: Location is good, room was okay (but only after repeated requests to front desk and tipping housekeeping to actually do their job).
Disliked: Staff was very rude, front desk literally lied to us about how much credit we had for breakfast, only when we checked out did we realize that we wasted money eating elsewhere for no reason. Room was absolutely grimy in certain places like between the mattress and bed frame. Bathroom was full of other people's hair. Room was run down - bathtub plumbing was broken, drawers were broken.
