Sleep Inn & Suites Bay View Acme - Traverse City

Very friendly and helpful staff. Room was clean and bed comfy. The breakfast was good and well stocked. We brought our Cairn Terrier for a first time motel stay and it worked out great.

Disliked: There was wall paper peeling off the wall. Our bathroom was not clean. There was black mildew in the sink and urine on the floor around the toilet. We didnt notice this until late at night when we were getting ready for bed and we needed to use the bathroom so we cleaned it ourselves. When we told the staff in the morning, they didn't say much and didn't even ask if there was anything they could do or if we needed anything or even a discount on the room. Very disappointed.

Liked: The staff were friendly and changed our room promptly when we needed one of the rooms changed due to a heavy urine smell.
Disliked: When we checked in, our King room was mostly clean except the hair on bathroom floor which I didn’t complain about. However, there was a heavy sewer smell when you showered and/or ran the sink water. Our kids smelled it in their double room as well. Speaking of double room, we had to change rooms immediately when we got into their room because it smelled like urine! Like strong urine like someone peed the bed or the floor. It burned my nose and I sneezed the whole night even after I had their room changed. They were not sleeping in there. The pictures are misleading, the beach is across the busy street. The views are pretty and the sunset was amazing. However, the lawn chairs lined up are in the grass in front of parked cars. Not ideal for a relaxing view of the beach. This was our first and last stay at this hotel. Breakfast seemed nice, however the room was so congested and people were sitting having social hour and not eating and we didn’t have a chance to get in to grab breakfast and sit down. My kids took food to their room, no problem. I however wanted to sit and drink coffee and eat since I was dressed for the day and wanted to eat properly at a table. Unfortunately not enough space to accommodate.
