We went back to our hotel at the Sleep Inn, Center City. Which was only a 10 minute drive to and from the venue. This hotel looks like a hole in a wall. It is very deceiving. Once we entered the lobby it was very clean and rooms are very nice! The room had a mini fridge and microwave. The room charge also came with a wonderful breakfast on the second floor. Bacon, eggs, bagels, waffles, oatmeal, cold cereal, coffee, tea, and cocoa. All the staff I came into contact with were very nice and extremely helpful. This hotel is surrounded by several restaurants all within walking distance. Definitely a plus for us! The only drawback was the handicap bathroom. The tub was a very deep tub - this made it virtually impossible to get my mother in by myself as she is on the short side. Getting her out I needed to call my cousin in for help. It took 3 of us to get her out. I spoke with the manager and asked if I could make a few suggestions to make the bathroom more handicap friendly. He said sure. My suggestions were: Entrance to bathroom should be flushed with the carpet, so you wouldn't have to bunny hop the lip to get into the bathroom. A little exaggerated but I did have a hard time getting her wheels into the bathroom. Perhaps a walk-in shower or a shorter tub. A fold down chair in the shower would've been helpful. Only to find out by the manager that they have shower chairs upon request. Which I didn't know to ask for. So be sure to request one if that would be of help to you. Otherwise the hotel was great! This hotel is a perfect example of 'don't judge a book by it's cover'. We had a wonderful time and hope if you go you will too!

Liked: Fantastic staff; cleanliness of hotel.
Disliked: The handicap bathroom.

Just fair

Liked: Beds were comfortable.
Disliked: - The shower curtain was discoloured - after the first night, we asked housekeeping to come back a bit later. We left at 12. When coming back around 5 the room wasn?t made- check out time is 11 am. And 11:07 am (looked at my watch) someone hammered on our door and yelled that it is check out time. We were already about to leave the room. Never ever has this happened when we have been a couple of minutes after the time.- breakfast was weak but what to expect from a 2 star hotel

A very good place for...

Liked: Excellent location, close to the convention center and easy access from/to the airport with a direct train. Not too far from the City Hall and the Liberty Bell either. Large room with 2 queen size beds, clean, with a fridge and coffee facilitites, and a safe. Staff at the réception were all very helpful. I asked for a quiet room and it was a quiet one, at the upper floor. Not cheap in itself but it is not so much expensive in comparison with other hotels in Philly.
Disliked: The window was small in comparison with the size of the room, so you have to switch the lights on even during the day. The breakfast was on the very simple side and always the same (only difference: one day was bacon, the next was sausages, and then you go again for bacon, then sausages...); a larger choice of fresh fruit would have been appreciated (only apples and bananas). Even if the staff was really trying to help, if was a little difficult to get 2 receipts for the room (we were 2 sharing the same room) with different amounts; but eventually we get them ! Should reconsider the location of the safe, which is at the bottom of the cupboard: one needs to be nearly flat on the floor to open/close it and put/retrieve anything in it !

Great and trendy place to...

Liked: I liked the location. It was great and near the convention center. The staff was helpful and friendly. I also enjoyed having breakfast every morning at 6am. The room was comfortable and always clean.
Disliked: I would recommend to have extra power plugs for laptops on the desk. Also, the door card was sometimes not working as the system did not work, however the staff did their best to re-connect the system.

Pleasant

Liked: The staff was very professional and pleasant. The location wasn't the best, though I did not feel specifically in danger. The breakfast was acceptable, but not great. And the eating space in the breakfast room was not sufficient--I had to stand to eat breakfast one day.

Not a bad hotel

Liked: Nice hotel in the center of Philly. Although this is a two-star hotel, the room was comfortable. I liked the fact that breakfast was offered.
Disliked: It?s a little expensive. Moreover, I had trouble to get into my hotel room. The key didn?t work.
