Pleasant.

Liked: Large, spacious
Disliked: Comfortable, could do with touch ups. Sofa cushions need refilling, scratches on furniture, paint work.

Relaxing & Beautiful

Liked: Beautiful hotel and value for money with breakfast included. Great spa & pool area. Friendly staff.
Disliked: Main courses were very disappointing in the restaurant. Starters were beautiful but I had the tikka curry and it is exactly the same as every pub chain restaurant. I expected better for the price.

Do not go if you’re...

Liked: - beautiful spa, very clean (I have read reviews saying it is dated, but I don’t feel that is true at all). - delicious food - beautiful grounds - for the amount of money I paid for 3 nights including breakfast via booking.com, very good value HOWEVER (see below)
Disliked: - the food and drinks are extremely expensive, London prices. As it is in the middle of nowhere you are quite forced to pay for these things and that was a shame. - the staff all only joined approx 2 weeks ago (they told us), and many do not know anything about the hotel from where the toilets are to if they do veggie sausages at breakfast. They were all very friendly, just not exactly competent. - the paths around the hotel for walks are not clearly signposted so we ended up in the middle of the golf course - I know it seems obvious in hindsight but I picked this hotel because of the spa and location, ignoring the golf part. Me and my friend went and we were constantly bothered by old men playing golf being creepy. There were huge groups getting wasted on alcohol and drugs and It really truly tainted it and made me feel quite uncomfortable.

Lovely hotel, breakfast a let-down.

Liked: Staff lovely, room comfortable
Disliked: Breakfast was very disappointing. We got there an hour before it closed and there were the dregs of yoghurt, fruit and pastries left that looked very unappealing. It was 40 mins before any fresh fruit came out and I didn’t see the pastries or yoghurt being refreshed. For a spa hotel the choice of a fresh healthy breakfast option was not available. The fried food looked plentiful but that was not our choice of a good breakfast. The tables were not cleared either so we sat facing a whole row of used tables. They also didn’t get cleared the hour we were there. It was a shame as the staff were friendly and hard working but obviously not enough of them.

Excellent manor hall stay on...

Liked: Excellent stay in the north east countryside with fantastic well presented general areas, good sized bedrooms and hearty breakfast included. A bonus was the free use of the gym and spa as a hotel guest
