Sketchley Grange Hotel

Don’t feel the need to...

Liked: Breakfast was ok and the bathroom was new, large and well appointed as was the room.
Disliked: Being next to a noisy function room as well as the bar. Were told the music in the bar would be turned down and the fire doors between our room and the bar( which were wedged open with two spoons) would be shut at around 9pm so we wouldn’t hear the music. At 10.40 we had to contact reception to see if the above was ever going to happen…..give them there due it did. We were the only room in that part of the building and with the noise from the air conditioning units(plural) that are attached to the wall below the window kept us awake most of the night. Apparently we are not the first to stay in that room to comment on the noise from the air con.

Liked: Chloe on the reception desk was excellent - very helpful
Disliked: The air con was on in the bar and it was quite chilly blowing over the tables.

Liked: Staff were lovely, bed was very comfortable, location was perfect
Disliked: The bathroom was dirty ( engrained filth ).The quality of the breakfast ingredients was poor ( stale, rubber like pastries, cereals lying in open bowls with customers coughing over them, sausages and bacon were very poor)

Liked: The room was spacious, and the Leisure club was great with jacuzzi, steam room, sauna, and swimming pool.The restaurant had plenty of choice would recommend Sketchley Grange for a lovely relaxing break. The reception staff were really helpful.
Disliked: There was nothing we did not like.

Superb

Liked: There were some lovely views and walks around the hotel and some amazing old trees on the public footpath and we had a meal in the restaurant, the honeycomb cheesecake is out of this world!
Disliked: There were some lovely views and walks around the hotel but it's in a weird location between a housing estate and an industrial estate we discovered.
