Fantastic staff, building and location...

Liked: Beautiful building, quiet location, great staff
Disliked: Mattress - or lack of a decent one. Owners and or GM get a grip. This is a fantastic building that deserves better if you are going to call it a hotel. I don’t mind peeling paint coming off walls or actual holes in the plasterboard but a mattress that looks and feels as it’s come from the tip. Room 35 btw

Basic but the bed was...

Liked: Good location for me. I could park almost outside my room.Friendly staff.Comfortable bed.
Disliked: The sink tap was loose, so you had to use both hands to operate it.Cleaning was well below standard. There was an empty water bottle under the dressing table the I booked in, which was still there until the 4th day. The carpet didn't appear to have been vacuumed for my 5 night stay.On 2 mornings the water was only lukewarm warm.There is a problem with ants, which the cleaners must have noticed, but nothing was done about it.

Disliked: The worst accommodation I have ever known (and unfortunately experienced) in my life. I hope the UK health authorities shut this place down and impose a heavy fine on those who run it because the condition of our rooms did not meet even the most basic hygiene standards.

Liked: The party venue was nice.
Disliked: We checked in to our room and the bathroom was unclean, the toilet seat had marks of some sort! We then changed rooms, but had further issues. The window did not stay open as the latch was broken, very small room size compared what is advertised, smelt like stale cigarettes, floor was a bit dirty, when putting the shower on, the bath taps did not turn off so whilst having a shower the bath tub filled up. This is the worst hotel I have ever stayed in, it is advertised as a 4 star however the standards are well below par, I would give it 2 star rating. Very shocked to see the rooms in the state that they are compared to what we saw on the website so very deceiving indeed. I paid £87, I feel it is worth £40-50. They do not provide breakfast so this is room only rate. If breakfast was provided, don't think I would even eat here, our experience terrible.
