Good value for location

Liked: Location to Circular Quay was excellent. A reasonable walk that includes a short uphill section from the train station.The room was spacious and comfortable. Bathroom was lovely and included both shower and tub.Breakfast was ample though having to book a seating time was different but as the dining room is small, I understood.All staff encountered were friendly and helpful.
Disliked: The rooms although comfortable are old. Peeling wallpaper in the corners. Cracks or rust stains around different fixtures. Not all rooms may be this way, but Room 404 needs the walls repapered. These are just decorative issues and do not impede with the comfort of the room.

Not 5 star

Liked: The location is good when going to the Opera.
Disliked: Definitely not 5 star. No mini bar, only drinks after 11 were water or Pepsi and only a pizza was available for room service and the bar had shut (Saturday). The smell is awful, like moth balls, they desperately need new carpet. The sheets and blankets threading was coming undone and you woke with string wrapped around you. The people were not accommodating. I called to ask for a sewing kit at 4.30pm. They said they have them and will bring it up...it never arrived. I went and purchased one at a convenience store. With improved room service and sheets I think it's a nice 4 star hotel.

Perfect location, quiet but excellent...

Liked: Brilliant position, spacious room and very quiet and insulated
Disliked: A bit tired but adds to the ambience

Liked: location was excellent close to both ferries and the rocks
Disliked: having to pay extra for an early check-in when the room was already available

Liked: Location is very good
Disliked: Carpet and fabric furniture very run down and dirty. Level 3 has extremely strong mould and sour smell. We then changed to a level 6 room that still has slight mouldy smell in some spots. The fabric sofa in the room has visible and big staines. The owner should really renovate the hotel!
