The most inhumane service I...
Liked: The property is great.
Disliked: There is a mandatory 100£ deposit that is not advertised well enough on the booking process. I needed an urgent overnight that I booked at 8pm and the staff refused to check me in without a holding deposit that doesn’t make any sense for 12 hours of sleep for a single woman with no luggage. The staff refused to help me cancel the booking as well when I explained I cannot afford the deposit. The deposit is refundable yes, but it becomes available in your bank account in 5-7 working days. It is an extremely expensive spending for an overnight if you do not have funds available. Yes, the policy is reasonable for long stays or for big groups of family and/or young visitors. In the morning when I checked out I wanted to leave my shoulder bag for 10 minutes at reception to head outside to a nearby shop. The manager at the reception refused to do this because I had a laptop in my shoulder bag. That says exactly everything about how inhumane, unemotional, uncontrollably lacking contextual application of policies and how if you go there they will treat you with superiority and aim only at your money. This is not a good place to give your money to. The service managed to hurt me in a vulnerable and urgent situation. If I wouldn’t have been in an emergency I wouldn’t have expected the above. However, this is the only hotel I have ever booked that asked me to pay an expensive deposit.
