Liked: Fantastic location, well preserved historic building. Very nice staff. Great place to start walks. Excellent chef and restaurant. Peaceful and quiet. Easy to access. Electric vehicle charging on site (2x)
Disliked: You can hear doors banging when people move around the hotel. Restaurant is small so I can imagine if the hotel is busy it may not be possible to eat at the location.

Liked: I loved this hotel - an oasis of comfort. The room was large and very comfortable. The bathroom and shower were excellent as well. I ate at the bar both evenings and the food was excellent. Breakfast was great too.
Disliked: This time I didn't have my laptop, but if I did want to work, I'm not sure I saw a desk in my room. But having said that, there were many other places in the hotel from where to work

Exactly what we were after...
Liked: Perfect location away from the main Hawes footfall but within a reasonable walking distance of just over a mile. Pleasant building and the room was well kept and spacious.Rooms where dogs are allowed are provided with a dog bed, a water bowl, a couple of treats and a ball, neatly packaged for them. The food is of a high quality but more of that later. The staff are absolutely brilliant. Always pleasant, helpful and curtious.
Disliked: The menus - the quality of the food is first rate, however this is not a 'hikers' place to eat. All the food is what most would call 'Fine Dining' Lovely presentation and great tasting but the portions were small. Some choices are a little more fulfilling but it's hit and miss as to what they are on the menu until it turns up at the table. These standards stretched to the bar menu and to a lesser extent the breakfasts.I'd like to see a seperate menu choice that is more fulfilling after a day hiking in the hills.
