Silversmith Hotel Chicago Downtown

Great hotel; wonderful location; excellent rooms but above all the lady at the front desk was so helpful, polite and went above and beyond to make our stay an experience to remember - she took it from good to great!

Liked: The front desk service was on a different level.
Disliked: Nothing.

Disliked: Loud, right next to train line, no dark blinds for the night

Ideal alternative to a hotel...

Liked: Great location, everything I needed was there
Disliked: There was a confusion regarding payment - I paid in full on booking several months ago but the Sonder team didn’t seem to be aware and asked for payment again during my stay. I was able to share my booking details so I think this has now been resolved!

Very good

Liked: Location was great, although noisy (which I expected - "L" trains rumbling past pretty much throughout the night).
Disliked: Air conditioning set up was poor. The unit was very noisy - fortunately I didn't need to use it and the output was taped to a partially opened window. That increased the noise from the L trains.It would have been helpful if there had been some instructions in the room about the temperature controls, white noise machine and how to use the central bedroom fan/light. I worked it out but others in our group didn't.

Pleasant

Liked: The location was good for our purposes. It was well equipped and the washer and drier worked well.
Disliked: It felt soulless. The window overlooked a nearby brick wall. The room didn't have any colour. There was no lobby to meet friends.

Worth the price (I’m poor)

Liked: You can open the windows and it’s right next to the train. The two bedroom sweet is spacious. You could honestly comfortably fit 8 people in it.
Disliked: Cigar shop on second floor of building which is not bad because you can take the elevator and bypass it. However, I got lost and ended up hanging out with a bunch of guys for a couple of minutes.

Liked: Location and combination of sitting, sleeping, and bathroom

Liked: They don't offer breakfast.
Disliked: The apartment is in a very noisy place because the apartment is located in downtown very close to the railway which is very noisy and I could not sleep the whole night.
