A lovely homely feel with...

Liked: An absolute gem of a place. The décor is in keeping with the age of this guest house, built in the late 19th century. Possibly a bit overdone, but certainly not overpowering. The room was cosy, the bed was super comfortable and parking was a doddle. The main town is a short stroll away with plenty of high quality eateries nearby and I was able to borrow an umbrella as it was raining. The 24/7 tea station was put to good use on my arrival! The lady with whom I dealt with was very hospitable and knowledgeable. At night, I could occasionally hear the whistle of a freight train some miles distant, but for me personally, it added to the charm of the location. The breakfast selection was just right as were the portions. I'd have no hesitation in recommending this place to anyone who needs a comfy, homely place to stay.
Disliked: My bathroom didn't have curtains/blinds, so I felt a little bit exposed in the morning(!) and the fridge/freezer was a little noisy but that's it.

Liked: Lovely owners, great, custom breakfasts included!! If you’re a tea drinker, you’ll be in heaven!! Huge selection!!!
Disliked: We booked the smallest room and should’ve researched better as it wasn’t really suitable for folks actually traveling with a lot of luggage. They kindly took the chair out of the room so there was room to access the bed. While we prefer not to have our room serviced daily, I did ask the woman who checked us in for more toilet paper but she didn’t come through….luckily, there was Kleenex.Most rooms are up at least one flight of stairs and there are no elevators.
