It's a fair value for...

Liked: Relatively clean room.
Disliked: I had to keep the curtain shut because people could just see through the room from outside, and the room was on the ground floor even thought it was within the hotel compound.

We do not recommend this...

Liked: What did we like? Almost nothing. We were given room 105, first floor, because stairs are not easy for us when carrying bags. If you do stay here, DO NOT stay in 105. Specify this when booking. Pay a bit more if you can. Price seemed good before we got there...but then :-( The ladies who cleaned were very pleasant (tho' one spoke no English and the other better, but not easy. They did as good a job as possible in this ancient place. Bathroom nice and clean. The best thing was Mama's Royal Cafe, a very short walk to 4012 Broadway. Do try it! Fabulous breakfast! Disliked: On 5/12/2023, my husband were give room 105 for 4 nights...first floor, because stairs are not easy for us when carrying bags. If you do stay here, DO NOT stay in 105. Specify this when booking. The 'view' from the window was of an old wooden propped up retaining 3 or less feet from the window. If you got close to the window and looked up you could see the high neighboring stone wall. No sun and little daylight. Being a retired home inspector, my husband said there was likely dirt that had fallen in/built up and so the wood retainer with 2x4's wedged into the hotel wall. He also said there was likely MOLD in the hotel wall. Being an intermittent asthmatic, I coughed for several days after the 4-night stay. The owner or check-in person never mentioned these things when he gave us the room. It was the last 1st floor room. The rug under the queen bed was worn and dirty around the edges. Also the building is very old and there was someone above us that tromped back and forth, heavy-footed until after midnight.

It’s ok, but has drawbacks

Liked: it’s got good (secure) parking.
Disliked: I was in room 102 and it was VERY noisy; street noise, people above me noise, people around me noise. I took a picture (attached) from inside of the door in the morning and there was so much light coming through it was almost as if the door wasn’t there (hence the noise from the street). also, there is a very bright light somewhere outside the room that the shade really doesn’t stop from coming through.I also didn’t like that I emailed the hotel on Sunday after I had gotten home about my phone charger and got no response.
