Liked: We chose Shutters as a venue for a 2 night stay before flying back to Australia from LAX. It is an easy drive to LAX, and location wise, we found it a good spot to be in.We ate at a local restaurant called Elephante - which we can highly recommend. Just a quick 10 min walk from the hotel.Coming from Australia, we didn't even consider walking on the beach or having a swim - it was just 'there'... The tide was a long way out, so we didn't hear waves crashing, or any of the normal beach side sounds.The room we were given was towards the back of the hotel, and sadly looked out onto a very busy road. The Saturday afternoon and evening this road was completely chocked... not much noise, but the odd revving of vehicles showing off, and smell of exhaust. So we didn't sit on the tiny balcony provided. The weather was perfect for what we did i.e. Visit the Ghetty museum and villa. We also walked around the district a bit, having coffee at a cute place not far off the beaten track.
Disliked: The location of our room.Other than that, the room itself was lovely - very comfortable bed, nice bathroom (the tap in the bath stopped working on the 2nd day, and a fellow came up to fix it very quickly). Sadly, the bathroom amenities are all in a locked cupboard, where you have to 'pay' extra to use them. I find this rather mean, given the expense of the room overall.The staff dropped in daily with water bottles, and were all very helpful.
