Would definitely be returning and...

Liked: Lovely surroundings and room was lovely and light
Disliked: Room was really warm even with the windows open and ceiling fan on, the slope up to the wedding venue was quite uneven

Tranquil part of the world...

Liked: The property is absolutely gorgeous! It’s set in a very tranquil and peaceful part of the world. The views from the front of Shrigley Hall are incredible. We booked the sunrise spa session and it was very good value for money as we only paid £15 for 2 hour access to the pools/sauna/steam room etc. We spent most of the time in the heated outdoor pool watching the sunrise. We also booked dinner in the restaurant and the food was delicious. The breakfast buffet was brilliant - good quality bacon and sausage, as well as a wide variety of breakfast options (pastries/cereals/yogurts etc). I would definitely stay here again.
Disliked: The main issue we had was the temperature of the room. When we initially walked in the room was absolutely boiling. We did try and turn the radiators down and open the windows which did make a slight difference, but the temperature of the room did disturb our sleep as we were up every few hours sweating. I also think the rooms could do with some TLC, but we booked one of the cheaper rooms so we didn’t expect anything grand.

Liked: Room was traditional and suited the hotel building and history, Dinner was good although the buffet breakfast could have been better.
Disliked: Location, historical atmosphere with a modern SPA

Disliked: Extremely noisy lots of door banging very over priced that didn’t include breakfast
