A great escape for a...

Liked: The staff were really helpful and friendly. The facilities are very good and the golf course and spa are worth a visit. The food was excellent with a good quality breakfast and OK coffee. The room was spotlessly clean and well equipped with a comfortable bed.
Disliked: Drinks are horrendously expensive. The driveway is an alloy wrecking moonscape.

Lovely location and entrance but...

Liked: The view was second to none. Golf course looked amazing, as an ex golfer. Parking - more than adequate.Everything was clean. The old building looked/was interesting, but was let down by the rest.
Disliked: Early morning (06:45hrs) noise from external workers and lorry deliveries from the same time. - no consideration for those still asleep. Inadequate lighting in room (139) to read by; had to use light from TV to add to lighting; still inadequate! No full length mirror for ladies to dress by, other than the larger wall mirror with multi convex reflectors.Mirrors inaccessible for ladies to do make up - impeded by desk and basin/toilet - not close enough access. No hot water, other than after several minutes of running the tap to achieve warm, after the morning supply had been depleted.Bedside tables are trendy but provide inadequate space for putting things down. Designed on a drawing board, but not tested by real people! It would have been nice to have had an easy chair.I asked the morning girls on reception what the tremendous distant view from the front was of (Wales/Liverpool?) - they both shrugged their shoulders - didn?t have a clue!Expected room to be made up for the second day, after leaving the reminder on the door. 2 tea bags for 2 days for 2 people, in the box, was insufficient. The afternoon/evening Receptionist was exceedingly helpful.I didn?t use restaurant, gym, pool etc.
