Spend the extra money and...

Disliked: Spend the extra money and get something cleaner and safer than this disgusting motel! When we arrived at Sherman Inn, there were cops arresting someone inside of one of the motel rooms. This did not make me feel confident that it was a safe motel and would have left, but I had already paid for the room in advance. It was non refundable so I checked in against my better judgement.While walking to our room, we noticed a really strong and disgusting pot smoke odor coming out of a room a few doors down from ours. As for our room, I paid for a non-smoking room, but it clearly was a smoking room because of the strong smoke odor, ashtray on the nightstand, and cigarette burn holes in the comforter.The smoke detector was falling down, clothes rack was rusty, vanity light was missing a bulb, paint from wall was on the ceiling, rubber baseboard casing under sink area was falling off, cheap laminate floor was uneven with huge gaps, towels were stained, and there was only one washcloth. To add insult to injury, there was a plastic cup on the sink that read "Housekeeping Tips Thank You" Are you serious?It appeared that a lot of the guests were staying at the motel long term and very sketchy looking. (Drug Addicts, etc) A bunch of kids ranging from 3-14 years old also kept roaming the parking lot until midnight. Luckily, our vehicles were not vandalized. This was by far the worst experience I have had staying at a motel/hotel in quite a while.

Not able to review Sherman...

Disliked: Our reservation was not guaranteed because Booking did not ask for or offer the option. In messages through Booking it was coordinated with the Sherman Inn that we would be there by 4:00 PM. When we got there at 4:10, we were told we did not have a room because it not guaranteed, and the room was given to someone else that had a guarantee. They then sent us to the Lone Star Inn down the street. It was far from standards we would accept. It was a disappointing experience with Booking.com.

Disliked: Housekeepers are rude. They'll try to open your door at 10am. Even when they realize the chain is still on the door. It's a little sketchy but a decent place to stay in a pinch. No phoned and had to ask for a TV remote bc ppl steal them.
