Sheraton Vancouver Guildford Hotel

Great place to stay; staff super friendly and helpful and courteous; room was excellent; location perfect!

Liked: Restaurant, bar and room were all great!
Disliked: No lows at all.

Liked: It was perfect expect they were struggling with short staff and no room service due to STRIKE.However it did not imapct us.

Liked: During the stay, strikes were in progress, so we didn't have perfect cleanliness, but we liked the kindness of the staff and the comfort of the location bed. We will visit again next time.

Disappointed of not being notified...

Liked: The location was convenient for our purpose and it was a lovely property although we never had time to see the pool area, only room, lobby and breakfast area.
Disliked: We absolutely did not like the fact that we were not notified that the property was on strike or we definitely would have gone to stay at another property. We were only notified upon check-in and a letter on our desk. That was in very poor taste and we were very disappointed, we did not pay that kind of money to not have any services. Oh so they gave us a breakfast and that was supposed to make up for it. We had to go to the desk to get our towels and toilet paper. When I complained, they did end up cleaning our room although we kept it tidy ourselves but it just didn't feel that it was really clean! We definitely would have stayed at a different property had we known. The staff on hand of course did their best under the circumstances but they should have notified us.

Liked: Workers are really friendly, breakfast is really good, there’s security outside the building so there was nothing to worry about parking outside, housekeeping took the time to organize my baby’s toys and stuffies on the bed when cleaning my room, would definitely stay there again for vacation.
Disliked: There was nothing I didn’t like

Lovely comfortable hotel

Liked: The breakfast was ok, due to a staff strike at the hotel it was very limited on services and breakfast was given to us complimentary due to the industrial action so I can’t complain about that. The rooms were lovely and roomy the view amazing.
Disliked: Even though I was aware parking was charged extra I really don’t understand why, they have a dedicated carpark under the hotel and for the cost of the room and then to charge $20 per night on top is a bit rude really. I feel as a guest it should be included.

Labour strike will affect your...

Liked: There was a labor dispute that has been going on for weeks while we were there. So hotel was understaffed. However the staff that was there were smiling, and were welcoming and made us fell good. Breakfast staff were amazing! Especially the host! I regret not getting his name but he was perfect!
Disliked: Labour dispute = really understaffed We had chosen this hotel because of the amenities that we did not get to enjoy. Restaurant / spa/ pool were all closed. We were offered bonvoy points or cancel our reservation with no penalty. Obviously we could not cancel because we booked months in advance and now all other hotels were 2 to 3 times more expensive. So we came and stayed and made the best of it.
