Great location but to expensive...

Disliked: The Sheraton Mexico City is very basic for a supposed 5-star hotel. Bathroom amenities were limited to shower products only — no extras. There were no glasses, robes, slippers or kettle, just a coffee machine and paid snacks.Had to move rooms due to a broken wardrobe and picture falling off the wall. Then moved again due to a broken shower and drain. Very dated. dirty and falling apart. Finally moved to a newer room but with 2 large single beds, we did not have the energy to move rooms again, so stayed there cramped and were sent a bottle of cheap prosecco instead of being offered a refund after having paid for a king room.They also had taken $795 AUD more than they should from my card as a “hold” without my agreement, allegedly to cover extra expenses. There will be no extra expenses — we won’t be spending anything here after how this was handled. When I raised the issue, the staff member was rude and condescending instead of helpful.I would not recommend staying here. Poor service, poor amenities, and questionable billing practices.

Liked: Great location.
Disliked: Unfortunately, my iPad was stolen. We didn't know about it until the last day when we were getting ready to leave. We reported to management, but nothing was done at that moment. They told us they will follow up as soon as possible, but to date, we have not received a copy of the report or any updates. I had essential work items, and we felt violated that someone went through my things, and nothing has been resolved or any compensation.I will never stay in this hotel again or recommend it.

Liked: The hotel facilities are great, an older hotel which was built in 1969. In a great location near the Angel We also made use of the gym which had many options.Breakfast was wonderful!
Disliked: I had breakfast included which was a self serve buffet and I found it strange how the waiters would ask for a tip. I have been around the world several times and that was the first time I encountered that.
