Sheraton Commander Hotel Guest Reviews

A landmark in the Harvard Square district, the Sheraton Commander Hotel blends classic New England charm with modern comfort. Just a short distance from Central Square and vibrant Brattle Theater, this hotel is perfectly located for music lovers wanting easy access to Boston’s top concert spots while staying in a quieter, more refined neighborhood. With colonial-style architecture and cozy, well-appointed rooms, it’s a peaceful retreat after a high-energy night out.
Concert fans appreciate how close it is to major venues in both Cambridge and Boston, with public transit and ride-shares readily available for late-night returns. The 24-hour front desk makes late check-ins a breeze, and its location in Harvard Square means you’re close to everything but still able to enjoy a good night’s sleep away from the city noise.
The on-site bar offers a relaxed spot for pre-show drinks or a nightcap. While there’s no mention of 24/7 room service, there are plenty of walkable dining options in Harvard Square, many open late. Breakfast is available for those who need a slow start after a late concert night.
Though the hotel itself is more about comfort than clubbing, you’re just steps from Harvard Square’s bars, pubs, and lounges. Whether you’re in the mood for live jazz, craft cocktails, or a laid-back local pint, you’ll find plenty of options just a short walk away.
Some guests mention the decor feels a bit traditional compared to trendier hotels in Boston, and the lack of 24/7 dining might be a downside for night owls. Still, its charm and location often outweigh these minor quirks.
If you're looking for a charming, quiet base near Harvard Square with easy access to Boston’s concert scene, the Sheraton Commander Hotel hits the right notes.

Great location, poor reservation system
Liked: I loved the location however we had reserved two full sized beds and when we arrived they told us that they overbooked and gave us a king sized. I paid more for two beds, wanted two beds for me and my grown son and wound up in an awkward situation. They said it happens all the time so beware that this may happen to you too. We were flying in from Europe and just wanted to sleep or we would have gone elsewhere.
Disliked: The did not reserve the correct room

Perfect place
Liked: Location amazing
Disliked: The lighting system was not properly working and the door hits the toilet. No ADA.No fitness and I had to ask to have the freezer and kettle brough a couple of times. It shall go per default on every room. Other than that perfect place
