Parking with room key didn't work; bathroom was extremely small; room has no refrigerator; booked two queens and got two doubles. The young man at the concierge desk was also very rude. Will not return.

I had excellent service. Someone checked in with me via text after I settled into my room and checked in the next morning as well. The room was clean and the bed was extremely comfortable.
Liked: Excellent service; clean; comfortable bed; spacious room; great view of downtown.

The hotel was great. Checkin was speedy and everyone was very friendly. Room service was very speedy and the room was great.
Liked: Loved our room; great view.
Disliked: Our heat was out, but when I called they were there to fix it within a few minutes.

The minute we walked in the luggage concierge insisted on taking our bags, even after we told him it was not necessary (this was of course to get the forced tip). The room was not ready and we were not sure we'd get to check in - this was at 4p.m. after it had been reserved the day before. Staff member could not print a receipt until he figured out his own email three times and there were hidden parking charges for a parking lot they own as part of the hotel - $13 to park!?
Disliked: Service bad. Hidden charges via parking; customer service was slow.

My husband and I recently took our 7 yr old grandson to the Nascar Hall of Fame. Looking at all the hotels is a very daunting task ( good reviews, bad reviews) - but despite some of the bad reviews of The Blake Hotel I decided to book there. Let me tell you those bad reviews were far from the truth. From the moment we got there until the time we left ( 2 night stay ), it was by far the best. The staff is beyond helpful, the Vault restaurant is the best (try the chicken salad...you have never tasted anything like it). One example of what this staff is like - there was an issue with the cable when we got there - no speed channel for my husband and grandson to watch the race ( arghhhhh...lol was the look on my husband and grandson's faces). I think they were in the middle of changing cable in the rooms or something - we went for a walk and when we got back they turned on the tv and Speed channel, ESPN, ESPN2 and all was there. They stopped my husband the next morning and asked him if the TV was OK - that they made sure to get it done while we were out. Thumbs up in our book! And thats just one example of how this staff works.
